Voodoo Series Big Block Chevy H-Beam Connecting Rod
Voodoo Connection Rods are
H-beam rods created from 4340 forgings. Voodoo Rods are strength and
quality tested through stress relieving, shot peening, and
magnafluxing. To remove stresses from the metals, stress relieving is
used. By heating the metals to a certain temperature and then allows
them to cool in still air; this helps with the removal of remaining
stresses from the metal. Shot peening is a process by which small
metallic particles are used to impact the surface of the material
being used in a part's construction and creates compressive residual
stresses on that surface, which can then longer withstand cracking
and breaking, thereby increasing the lifespan of the part.
Furthermore, magnafluxing is running a magnetic particle filled fluid
over and through metal parts. The magnetic particles attach to any
flaws or fissures in the material and magnifies them so that it can
be identified and removed from use if necessary.
